Looking for help with a Dac/Headphone Amp

I am struggling to find a product that meets my needs. I am a Windows 11 user and go back and forth between using headphones and speakers connected to a vintage Sansuii integrated amp. I currently have a Schiit Modi DAC on the Sansuii input because it is located about 30’ from my PC and was getting noise using a cable with RCA connectors. I am looking for a device that I can easily switch between headphones or speakers, has a volume control that controls the active selection, and uses USB input (PC) and either SPDIF optical or coaxial outputs. I tried a Creative X5 but when selecting headphones, the SPDIF output (speakers) was still active, along with the headphones. Sugestions?

Hey there, Im also a fellow Sansui user. They are great sounding amps in general. For your system are you looking to replace the Sansui with another amplifier? If it were me I would look for a way to get your Sansui to be closer to the source device so you don’t need such a long RCA cable which should help with the noise. Another option could be using a Bluetooth receiver so you can stream wirelessly from your PC or phone to the amp. Something like this should do well for general use. Amazon.com

Just to make sure we understand correctly, you play audio from your PC to your setup which has both headphones and speakers? Or do you use headphones at the PC and speakers at the other location?

Alex, to clarify. I am sitting at my PC with the SB X5 in front of me. The headphones are connected to the X5 and I have an optical cable running from the X5 Optical Out to a Schiit Modi DAC about 30’ away. The Schiit Modi is connected to the Sansuii with RCA cables.

Ah okay. So a split setup. Thanks for clarifying.

@thomas does that change anything in your opinion?

Using an optical cable from your Desktop setup should avoid alot of the RF noise since its an optical signal.

Are you looking to solve your noise issues on the Sansui? Or looking for a flexible device that can route signals one at a time?

Something like the RME ADI-2 Pro might work. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ADI2ProFSRBE--rme-adi-2-pro-fs-r-ad-da-converter-black-edition
